As part of our ongoing commitment to STEM, CampbellReith recently visited a local school for Science Week to talk about science and engineering.
Ruth Fraser from our Land Quality team in the Surrey office went along and talked to Year 5 (age 9/10) about how we can make sure the ground is suitable to build on.
Ruth brought into the classroom a small sandpit where the children were enthusiastic about digging into ground of a mock brownfield site. They found metal pollution (glitter), oil spills (treacle) and bombs (a toy bowling skittle). But the favourite was playing with the CampbellReith cranes.
