Construction work is now under way for this £20m state of the art music hall and school in Benenden, Kent. The facility will be one of the best of its kind in the country and has involved some highly challenging engineering of the complex 3D diagrid timber roof. The design has been specifically developed to create optimum acoustic characteristics for a variety of performance layouts/school hall uses. Some of these will include concerts and performances form music students, visiting musicians and social events.
The foundation works have had to include protection of the existing remains of the original 1790s house and garden structures including the old moat (pictured).
