My engineering journey began at Cardiff University where I achieved an MEng in Civil Engineering, specialising in structural engineering in my final year. Following that, I returned to London where I worked at a mid-sized engineering practice for 2 years, focusing mostly on private residential developments. Wanting a change in the variety and scale of project work I was involved with, I jumped ship to CampbellReith.
My interest in structural engineering stems from the variety and scale of projects, and how teams of people can come together to create amazing spaces. I also enjoy the technical problem-solving aspect; getting stuck in and crunching the numbers, along with the satisfaction that comes with overcoming those challenges. Finally, I find working with a variety of people from different backgrounds rewarding, and you can always learn something about this industry from those with a wealth of experience. Seeing the things you designed actually being built is also extremely satisfying.
Outside of engineering
Outside of work, during warmer periods you’ll find me playing disc golf (yes that is a real sport!) volleyball or bouldering. Otherwise, I’ll probably be producing electronic music, watching sports or trying out something new.
