I have been working as an engineering geologist since 2015, primarily based in the southwest of England. During this time I have been involved with multiple phased ground investigations including designing, organising and supervising the site work as well as writing factual and interpretive reports. I have also completed my MSc in Engineering Geology at Newcastle University during this time.
I have spent a year working as a site geologist, involved with the construction of onshore and offshore tunnels associated with the construction of a new nuclear power station, being seconded to the Tunnel Boring Machine Engineering Team in January 2021.Gaining a detailed understanding the ground conditions is important for every construction project and each site offers its own unique challenges to be overcome. During my previous roles I enjoyed using data to develop ground models and working in diverse teams to solve a variety of problems.
As a new member to the CampbellReith team, I am keen to get involved in their range of challenging and exciting projects.
Outside of engineering
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors walking, wild swimming and camping. In the winter, I enjoy white water kayaking on rivers around the southwest, often followed by a trip to the pub.
