I was first introduced to working in the construction industry 16 years ago, when I joined CampbellReith and have not looked back since.
Prior to this, I worked in the Automotive industry. I initially started as an apprentice sheet metal worker, manufacturing components for prototype and test vehicles before they go onto mass production. Later, I decided to join the design department where I was involved in designing the components of the vehicles – this fed my passion for engineering.
Since joining CampbellReith, I have worked within the structures team and have thoroughly enjoyed the different types of buildings in the UK and overseas – from racecourse grandstands, residential buildings and high-rise hotels to roller coaster infills!
As a Technician so much has changed in this time, particularly the technology we use. Revit has brought a new way to droughting, with everything being modelled in 3D, you are able to quickly envision what the building is going to look like. This makes it a lot easier to visualise compared to 2D draughting.
Outside of engineering
Outside of work I love watching sport.
