I take a huge amount of pride in what I do – being able to travel around the country and point out buildings that I have helped design is not something everyone can say!
I have worked as a Structural Engineer for over 8 years, including a brief period as a steel detailer for a fabricator prior to structural design. This experience gave me an invaluable insight to the wider construction industry. Since, I have worked in a range of sectors including residential, commercial, education and healthcare.
At CampbellReith, I now work as a Senior Structural Engineer in event structures, an exciting area to be involved in due to having a great team that manages a busy schedule of events across the year and conducting key structural checks on some of the biggest events in cities across the world.
Putting hard work into a project and seeing it take shape over time is thoroughly rewarding. Buildings are never created by a sole individual and I enjoy the collaborative effort that can often build a strong sense of kinship with the people we work with, especially where there have been large team efforts to overcome obstacles.
Outside of engineering
I love competitive sports and I compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments. My highlight was when I was crowned British Champion of the sport in 2016 at beginner level. I find the physical training immensely rewarding, as well as being a great outlet after my weekly routine
