I am fortunate to have known I wanted to pursue a career in engineering from a very young age. I was always keen to pursue a career that would allow me to make a positive impact on society and the environment. My BEng dissertation was an investigation into using “HEC-RAS for Flow Analysis and Water Resource Management on the River Tigris” which opened my eyes to some of the challenges people face around the world and really fuelled my determination to pursue engineering.
Over my career I have worked with both public and private sector organisations to deliver multi-disciplinary schemes across the UK and overseas. My interest lies in Sustainability, Flood Risk, SuDS and Highways, and my experience in these areas has involved me in a variety of schemes across, Flood Alleviation, Strategic Infrastructure, Automotive, Healthcare, Education, Aviation, Industrial and Residential.
I believe in a pro-active approach from the first concept sketch, with the aim of minimising costs and delays, later in the programme. Multi-disciplinary working has allowed me to help clients overcome challenges and develop innovative and interesting schemes.
I take great pride in seeking quality and value for clients. My experience on site has reinforced a simplistic and realistic approach to engineering.
Outside of engineering
I try and spend as much time outdoors as possible. I try to escape to Devon, Wales and Scotland as often as possible, whitewater kayaking, cycling and rock climbing, and as a keen photographer my camera follows me everywhere.
