After a number of years in the structural steelwork industry, I joined CampbellReith as a project engineer in 1995. Since joining the practice all those years ago, I have worked on some of the most exciting projects in the UK and internationally, with the country’s leading clients, architects and construction companies.
As a structural and civil engineer I have worked on complex schemes across a diverse range of sectors from commercial offices to regeneration and large public sector schemes. However, my main area of interest is the healthcare and science research sectors, with clients that include Barts Health, UCLH, the Royal Marsden Hospital and the National Physics Laboratory.
My role as Project Partner is managing our multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of architecturally challenging refurbishment and new build projects, many of which have involved deep basement construction and the development of constrained urban sites. One of our most significant schemes to date is the 30m deep basement created to house the particle accelerator and treatment gantries for the Proton Beam Therapy Centre off Tottenham Court Road.
I have a keen interest in quality architecture and enjoy working collaboratively to formulate creative solutions to the engineering challenges we face when delivering on an architectural vision. I relish in maintaining full involvement during design development and construction, providing a consistent single point of contact for all matters relating to our performance.
