CampbellReith provided engineering services to the James Terry Court project for both refurbishment and new building. The old residential care home buildings occupying the James Terry Court site were reaching the end of their life. It was intended to replace most of the existing accommodation with the exception of the attractive 19th century house located toward the front of the plot. This was fully refurbished to bring the facilities up to the standard of the new blocks.
The new buildings comprise two new three storey residential wings and a central hub which includes a large restaurant, hairdressing facilities, and a communal lounge. A roof top garden located above the central hub is accessed from the new residential wings and the refurbished 19th century house.
CampbellReith provided full civil, structural and geotechnical engineering services on the project from RIBA Stage 1 to 7 (A through to L when the project was undertaken).
