Graduate and Project Environmental Consultant

CampbellReith is looking for a Graduate and Project Environmental Consultant to work in our busy London office.

You will be joining an independent award-winning multidisciplinary consultancy with a reputation for innovative and sustainable design. We are a diverse team containing a mix of highly qualified and chartered engineers, scientists and environmentalists.

Our current and projected workload requires individuals to join our busy and growing Development Team in London. We work within the natural and built development sectors and our workload is varied from day-to-day. Successful candidates will have an inquiring mind with ideally a technical background and strong project management skills.

We work in a wide range of sectors including infrastructure, education, health, commercial, residential, leisure and large-scale regeneration schemes. We collaborate with our internal teams and our large team of sub-consultants supporting us on framework contracts (e.g. Homes England) in providing the full development planning services including: planning, urban design, masterplanning, architecture, landscape and visual impact, ecology & BNG, arboriculture, heritage & archaeology, air quality, noise, vibration, water quality, energy, sustainability, communications, property & viability and cost consultancy (quantity surveying).

CampbellReith is seeking for a dynamic, inquisitive and enthusiastic environmental consultant at project level who has demonstrable relevant experience and is keen to display and develop their technical and project management skills. The candidate will be actively working towards chartership.

Graduate Environmental Consultant

CampbellReith is also looking for a graduate looking to embark on their career in environmental and development planning consultancy.

Role

  • Working as part of the team and reporting to a Senior Consultant, Associate or Partner, you will work on a variety of projects and perform the following tasks:
  • Review of technical and non-technical reports to critically assess and distil information for non-technical audiences, such as clients
  • Researching and sourcing of information and data to inform technical and non-technical assessments
  • Prepare EIA Screening and Scoping Requests
  • Prepare ES chapters
  • Prepare EIA Non-technical Summaries
  • Prepare Construction Environmental Management Plans, Construction Traffic Management Plans, Waste Management Plans and Sustainability Statements
  • Develop project management skills
  • Co-ordinate internal CampbellReith resources where required to deliver project objectives
  • Co-ordination of teams of sub-consultants where CampbellReith has a broader project role
  • Develop budget/financial management skills and work to set budget limits
  • Be proficient in implementing, and promote project use of company Integrated (Quality) Management System
  • Support senior members of staff in prospective bids and tenders
  • Develop ability to work with low supervision
  • Further develop communication skills and professional report writing skills
  • Identify future career paths and proactively seek to follow these
  • Train in and learn new skills, including dissemination of updated legislation and best practice to the Development Planning Team and wider company (as appropriate). This could include learning basic GIS or CAD software packages in order to deliver basic plans and drawings
  • Maintain professional memberships (Graduate/Associate level), such as IEMA, IES or CIWEM and, actively work towards chartership and,
  • As appropriate, seek advice and guidance from senior team members and managerial grades.

Education

Minimum of BA or BSc in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Geography, Town & Country Planning or relevant subject.

Preferably hold an MA or MSc in a relevant subject.

Graduate or member level within a relevant professional institution (e.g. IEMA, IES and CIWEM).
