Andy Higgins from our London civils team recently visited The Priory CofE School in Dorking to help cap off the end of Science Week 2024 as part of his role as a STEM Ambassador.
Andy first gave a talk to the Year 11 triple science students about the wonderful world of Civil Engineering, before helping the triple science students judge a poster competition featuring entries from the entire Year 7-9 cohorts.
Finally, Andy put his civil credentials to the test by serving as an expert advisor for a Year 7 class in their spaghetti and marshmallow tower building competition. The winning group had clearly taken on board the advice and demonstrated impressive design skills and excellent teamwork to construct a very impressive tower reaching 79cm!
