I started my career 17 years ago as a Junior CAD technician at a traffic engineering consultancy on the outskirts of Bristol. This gave me the base of understanding and ignited my enjoyment of design that I had developed from a young age, drawing around 50 vehicles on the drawing package of my family PC in the early 90s.
I stayed with the company for 8 years, where I also completed my HNC in Civil Engineering part time and ultimately being promoted to highway engineer. During a time of company struggles, I was transferred to a connected business which showed me that I could be an engineer outside of my employer. After a 4 year stint as a national engineering manager at a block paving manufacturer I wanted to get back into consultancy and being closer to family, joining CampbellReith as a senior civil engineer in early 2019.
I enjoy the challenge of problem solving and being part of a strong team, learning from others around me, appreciating that there are multiple methods and solutions to design.
Outside of engineering
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family when I am not running or on the golf course trying not to lose too many balls.
