At the start of my career, after a few years working on a construction site, I began working within a design office. Since then I have enjoyed my role as project structural and civil engineer on a variety of building projects in the UK.

Back in the days when there were no computers, and everything had to be done manually, this really did give the grounding I needed for today’s complex development.

I thoroughly enjoy being closely involved on projects from the get-go producing detailed designs, tender and construction information, and then monitoring progress onsite all the way through to practical completion.

As the size of the projects increased, the more complex they have become and I enjoy the collaboration with other professionals in the construction teams to determine the best engineering solution. One of my passions is having attention to detail, so whilst I am managing I am always keeping a keen eye on the intricacies of the design solution!

I enjoy forming relationships with site construction teams and working together with them towards satisfactory delivery of each project.

Outside of engineering

I enjoy walking, reading and spending time with my family.
